It’s always encouraging to see a young child serving from their heart. When 5-year-old William Evertz Jr. served his neighborhood police officers, my heart just melted!

Evertz took more than seven months to save up enough of his allowance money to treat the local cops to lunch! He did it so the cops wouldn’t have to worry about lunch that day! Talk about precious!

“William Evertz Jr. wanted to do random acts of kindness. One of his acts was to deliver lunch to the police officers in his community who keep him safe,” the Winslow Township Police Department Facebook page said.

The young boy took his hard earned allowance to a nearby Subway and purchased a variety of sandwiches for the officers. “William chose to buy lunch from his allowance from Subway because he wants the officers to be healthy,” the Facebook page added.

Along with this act of kindness, Evertz also plans to donated clothes, toys, and school supplies to domestic violence shelters. With all his kindness and generosity, the station decided to honor the boy with a special shirt and badge. The two items signify the special connection between the officers and the boy.

When I see young children with a servant’s heart like this, I can only wonder how much impact a full grown person can make! Let’s be inspired by this young boy’s attitude and willingness to serve!
