When two 12 year old boys went on a little bike ride, they weren’t expecting to become heroes. But the world had different plans, as 4 year old Melody tried swinging on a limb, and fell into a pond.

Melody, who is 4 years old and autistic, fell into the water, and wasn’t coming upend swimming back. She didn’t know how to swim. Luckily, the two boys who saw what happened did, and they  quickly dropped their bikes and dove in to save her.

The boy pulled Melody out of the water, and then ran to get help, and the police were called to the scene.

“The two 12-year-old boys who saved this girl are heroes in the eyes of REPD. Thank you for your quick action,” wrote the Roman Forest Police Department on their Facebook page.

Melody was taken to the hospital where they observed her for a few hours. Later in the evening, Melody was reunited with her family, and her mother was in tears. She wasn’t sure what was going to happen to her baby girl.

“4 year old girl is okay. No charges will be filed at this time pending complete investigation. Mother and child have been reunited,” they continued.

We are so thankful the boys were present, and were able to save little Melody. They truly are heroes, and we wish them all the best.
