Any love story is adorable and sweet in its own way, no matter how boring it may seem to anyone else. Love is love, and it’s one of the most special things to exist.

And this Down’s syndrome couple has proven that love does last when it’s true. A husband and wife who were thought to be the first couple with Down’s to actually become married in the UK are now celebrating a major milestone in their lives.

The couple has recently celebrated their 22 anniversary, and it is the sweetest thing ever! But Maryanne and Tiffany Pilling didn’t receive the support from others like they expected, when they had first gotten married.

When they tied the knot in Essex a little over 2 decades ago, they received skepticism and criticism, and were not fully supported, but that didn’t stop them. They loved each other, and were determined to show the world that love by getting married, no matter what anyone said.

Now, 22 years later, the couple has racked up a bunch of supporters on social media, and they couldn’t be happier.

“My wedding was the best day of my life. I was shocked when Tommy proposed but I didn’t have to think twice about saying yes,” commented Maryanne.

Their families received a lot of disapproval from others, saying it was a bad idea. But they would just say it was their decision, and that was that.

The couple live independently, but have families living in the houses right beside theirs, who are always ready to help out as needed.

Tommy and Maryanne also have a Facebook page, which now has over 7,300 followers, and their page has been flooded with posts and messages wishing them a wonderful anniversary, and commenting about how much of a lovely couple they are. And we agree with them 100%.

We wish them MANY more anniversaries, and hope they continue to love each other nonstop, as they have been for the last 22 years.
