A GoFundMe page has been set up for the hero trucker who gave his life trying to fight off the terrorists that hijacked his truck and committed the Berlin massacre. In the very first day the donation page was up, it raised over $38,000.  And since that first day, it has now reached almost $60,000!

Lukasz Urban tried to fight off the eventual terrorists. Lukasz’ cousin, Ariel Zurwski, shared about his bravery. He told the media that Lukasz was attacked in downtown Berlin. “It’s hard for me to imagine that something like that can happen in broad daylight, on a street of the German capital,” he said. His face was swollen and bloodied from the fight, he was stabbed several times and ultimately shot to death. Urban obviously would not give up his truck and defended it to the end.

This prompted fellow trucker, David Duncan to set up the GoFundMe page for the hero’s family. David wrote on the page, “Although I did not know Lukasz, the story of his untimely departure shocked and disgusted me, and I cannot comprehend how his family feels at this awful time. So, as a fellow trucker, I decided to reach out to the trucking community and beyond to help in some small way. No amount of money will bring Lukasz back, but hopefully it will help his family do what ever they need to do.”
