Do you remember the story about the inmate who helped a guard suffering a heart attack? Hearing stories about things like this give us a new hope in the world we live in and that’s what Gladwire is all about. Just recently, another story of an inmate came forth that will truly encourage you!

While in jail, a minimum-security inmate noticed a female officer trying to control another inmate who was attempting to escape. As soon as he realized she was losing the battle, the minimum-security inmate jumped in to help.

The two wrestled the attempted escapee to the ground and held him there until other officers arrived.

Fast forward to the when the minimum-security prisoner was released. He wanted to head home to Missouri, but didn’t have any money to get back. That’s when several officers put their money together to purchase him a plane ticket.

The inmate was so honored by their gesture that he left a note behind for them. The note read:

“I wanted to thank all of you for the kindness you have showed me. You made me feel like a good person when I needed it most! Working in booking has been entertaining to say the least! I know it’s not all fun and games in there at all and in fact can get quite hairy. Thanks for not tasing me…”

Just because someone is in jail, doesn’t mean they’re a bad person. Some people just make mistakes and have to own up to them. SHARE this story if you believe in second chances!
