Shauntelle Tynan, 18 years old from Ireland, posted an absolutely heartbreaking video pleading with the public to help support her health care costs in the U.S. in Houston, Texas for specialized treatment, that will be her last chance.

Shauntelle shared the video on her youtube channel, and it went viral. More than 18,000 people have donated to the cause, raising more than $340,000 in just 36 hours, and now have reached $515,000.

The Go Fund Me page for Shauntelle has said that her campaign is the largest Irish campaign to EVER be held on the crowd-funding platform.

And even MMA fighter Andrew Murphy is even getting in on the project. He is going to donate all ticket profits from his upcoming fight to help Shauntelle. After watching her emotional video, Murphy felt heartbroken.

“As a father to a one year old son, seeing Shauntelle’s video really hit me hard,” he wrote in a post on Facebook.

Shauntelle is hoping to travel to Texas for further treatment in March. Her government is refusing to support her, saying she does not qualify for the HSE’s Treatment Abroad scheme, and are basing her life “on a number.”

“We have done everything in our power to get her life back and pleaded with the Minister for Health for support but because Shauntelle requires care outside of the criteria for the treatment abroad scheme as her treatment is not within Europe. We have been swamped with acts and legislation all coming down to a big no,” said Shauntelle’s mother, Leona.

Leona, who had given up her full time job to care for Shauntelle, is desperate for her daughter to return to full health, and get to live a happy and healthy life. And we are too! We hope everything works out for Shauntelle, and we are so happy that people have been so generous. Are you thankful for the people that have donated to help Shauntelle? Then SHARE this post!
