The children of a terminally ill couple who had recently died of cancer within just a matter of days of each other, are receiving help from the community, who raised more than $100,000 for the kids.

Julie and Mike Bennet’s children released a photo of the parents holding hands on their deathbeds, which got the attention of many. Resulting in them donating to help the kids get back on their feet.

Mike had died due to a brain tumor that he was diagnosed with back in 2013, and Julie, a primary school teacher, had been suffering from liver and kidney cancer, which she was diagnosed with in 2016.

“My brother, sister and I are overwhelmed by the enormous support and generosity we have received from so many friends and well-wishers,” said Luke Bennet, the son of Mike and Julie.

The parents have been known to be supportive of their children, encouraging the to pursue their interests in dancing and acting from a very early age. And the kids will continue to do what they love, knowing that’s what their parents would want them to do.

The community has come together to help the kids with the struggle of losing both parents, and even Sue Wright, a friend of Julie, had said to her, “I told her the community would come together to help look after her kids – and she opened her eyes and smiled.”

In just 24 hours of starting the fundraiser, the community had raised over $15,000. We are so happy knowing that these kids will be taken care of by the community, and we hope that the support will continue over time. If you think what this community had done so far is amazing, then SHARE this post!
