Miesha Tate is a professional mixed martial artist who has many knock outs under her belt. But, she recently proved that she has a soft side too!

Tate was hiking Nevada’s Mary Jane Falls on Sunday when she came across a mother struggling to carry her injured daughter. The daughter, Kai, had fallen and severely broke her arm in the process.

According to Tate’s Facebook post, Kai didn’t want anyone but her mother, Amber Ellis, to carry her down. However, weirdly enough, the little girl saw Tate and wanted her. Tate retold the events saying:

Today a little girl broke her arm up at the top of Mary Jane falls (Mt Charleston) and I saw her meekly built mother struggling to carry her daughter down the mountain so I offered to carry the little girl to the bottom. The mother asked her 6 year old daughter “would you rather have me or her carry you down” without hesitation (to my surprise) she quickly replied “I want HER to carry me.”

Tate ended up carrying the girl for the rest of the hike which ended up being about 2 miles. Ellis later responded to the generosity of Tate saying:

“Kai is beyond thankful for your help,” she wrote. “She was telling everyone at the hospital all about you, and how she wants to be a fighter, like you, now too; it was the most adorable thing! She definitely looks up to you, and I couldn’t be more proud of the role model she’s chosen!”

In an even more amazing thank you, Kai can be seen thanking Tate in the video below!

Tate summed up the entire event saying, “[This is] one of the most rewarding days of my athletic career.” She went on to say, “I also want to make a point that I have been told many times that I am ‘too buff’ or ‘manly’ that I should stop lifting weights, that it’s ‘gross’ and not attractive for a woman,” she shared on Facebook. “I am so happy that I never listened to the limitations others wanted to put on me and I hope that our youth knows that [you] don’t have to conform. That strength and beauty comes from within!”
